McGalliard Falls Park
Join us as we explore The McGalliard Creek bridge. This walk will be doable for your little one but is stroller-friendly after one flight of stairs. This 1 mile out and back trail is generally considered an easy route, it table an average of 25 mins to complete. we will enjoy a picnic and let the kiddos play.

The Orchard at Altapass ($$)
Join us for this field trip experience and hike at an Apple Orchard! The cost is $14 per adult. Includes a hayride, model train display, bee exhibit, monarch habitat, activity sheets, and apple peeling with caramel. Children 4 and under are free!

Hawksbill Mountain Trail
Join us for this 2.1 mile Out&Back, moderate to
strenuous trail. The hike to the top of Hawksbill Mountain offers rewarding panoramic views of the Linville Gorge. There are about 3miles of gravel roads leading up to the trailhead parking.
This trail is averaged to take 1hr 20min to complete, for our group it will be closer to 3 hours.

Newland Hike and Swimming Hole
Join us on this 1.4 mile out-and-back trail near Newland, NC. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 55 min to complete. There are 6 miles of dirt road leading up to this trailhead.
This trail is NOT stroller-friendly and geared towards 3yr and up or littles in hiking carriers.

Morganton Local Beach Day
Join us as we relax on the sand and watch our kiddos explore and play together. The 700-ft. long beach features a bathhouse with nice changing rooms, concessions, and a protected swim area. Bring your sunscreen, swimsuits, chairs, blankets, beach toys, and coolers. Lifeguards are on duty most days. When lifeguards are on duty, a fee is charged: $5/adults and $4/children 12 and under.
Sunset Hike
Join us on this sunset hike that will be 1.5-miles out-and-back trail. Easy hike to the Pinnacle, which has amazing views of Lake James and where breathtaking views can be had in all directions. Please pack snacks and maybe a special treat for you and your kiddo(s) to enjoy while we watch the sunset.

Join us for fun at the park. Bring lunch and make sure to bring those bathing suits, towels, and sunscreen.
Rock Painting + Hike
Join us on this local hike and help us create our first collaboration project with Foothills Conservancy. We are so excited to have you be a part of this community project. Pack snacks and a lunch to enjoy along the hike. This will be a short 2-mile out and back hike that is all-terrain stroller-friendly.
Blue Ridge Parkway Hike
Join us for this scenic hike just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Pack your child carriers and a picnic lunch.

Linville Hike
Join us for this 1.0mile out-and-back trail near Pineola, NC. Generally considered an easy route. it takes an average of 27min to complete. The trail ends at an outcropping with outstanding views across Lost Cove and Timber Ridge, and up to Grandfather Mountain. The best times to visit this trail are April through November.
